Working languages

I translate from English and French into Spanish (secondarily also Catalan and Portuguese into Spanish). For certain less specialized texts, I also translate from Spanish into English.

Translation

My two main areas of specialization are legal and European affairs translation, but I’m also currently opening up to medical translation, after having completed specialized training in this field. Likewise, I do all types of more general translations and I also have quite a lot of experience in marketing and travel and tourism.

Legal: This has been my main specialization since university and I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Translation English into Spanish. More info

EU affairs: Since my work placement at the European Commission this has become my second main area of expertise. More info

Medical: I got a Certificate of Specialist in Medical Translation EN> ES after following a 3-months intensive specialized course from Trágora Formación, Professional School of Translation and Interpreting, Granada. More info

Editing and proofreading

I also provide editing and proofreading services of texts originally drafted in Spanish or translated into Spanish by other colleagues. I am a very perfectionist person and an enthusiast of linguistic correctness and accuracy, following standardized guidelines such as the ones provided by Fundéu BBVA (Fundación del Español Urgente) and the Interinstitutional Style Guide of the Publications Office of the European Union.

Tools

I work with SDL Trados Studio 2019 (and Xbench for QA), but I am also familiar with Memsource and open to use other translation software upon request.
